Pretty in Pink
Pink sky at night…
What do you say when you see a beautiful red sunset? Pink sky at night, sailor’s delight or Pink sky at night, shepherd’s delight? Perhaps it depends on where you grew up, with sailors being preferred if you had a coastal upbringing and shepherds the version for those who grew up inland…Who knows why the difference in this saying came about, but what we do know is that there is definitely some scientific backing behind this adage, as when we do get a beautiful pink sky at night, it does usually give a good indication of what the next day will bring weather wise.
For someone who has received a cancer diagnosis there is no way of knowing what the next day will bring. Taking it a day at a time is important and knowing that friends and family are there to support them throughout the journey must provide some comfort. They may also find solace knowing that they are not alone, that there are charities out there who are tirelessly fundraising to help fund research into finding a cure for this heartbreakingly indiscriminate disease as well as providing much needed emotional support to those who have received a diagnosis. This month, Pureshore Jewellery is proud to be supporting the fantastic Wear it Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On 22 October this year, the Wear it Pink campaign https://www.wearitpink.org/ will raise money to assist life changing research and care for people with breast cancer. According to the charity Breast Cancer Now, https://breastcancernow.org/ this year alone approximately 55,000 women and 370 men in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer and around 11,500 women and 80 men will die from it. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a particularly poignant time for many of us who have had first-hand experience or have supported family and friends through these trying times. We’re pleased to be able to play a very small part in raising money by donating 20% of sales from our Pureshore Wildflower Rose Gold Vermeil Collection throughout the whole of October. Our Wildflower collection is particularly pertinent as whilst being delicate it also has a great spirit, vital in the fight against cancer.
